#34 Figure These Two Out

For the boy’s age he was 3 and a half.

For the block, Hilda used a total of 22 bricks together when she was playing with her building bricks while making a tower.

#30 Free Choice

I'm looking forward to my graduation, and there's alot of mixed feelings I have about it. I'm excited, nervous, curious, full of wonder, hopeful, etc. I want to invite as many of my family members as possible. I also really want to invite my best, close friend Yesenia and I hope she can come to it.

I'll be graduating from Back Bay High School on Thursday, June 19, 2014, which is 4 days before my 18th birthday. Im hoping I have a good job by then and I should be employed already. I want to leave my group home facility as soon as possible, like on my birthday like my social worker said will probably happen.

I'll have my high school diploma and certificate of completion, and I'll be an adult going to a regional center home. I want to live somewhere where I have independence and freedom, and the ability to work on making my dreams come true like becoming a singer. I don't like alot of restrictions and rules where I can't do those things for myself. Once I graduate, turn 18 and emancipate from where I currently live, I'll have more control over who I talk to and who's in my life.

#33 How Many Handshakes?

1.) 45 is the answer for the first one, for there being 10 students in the class.

2.) For the second one, the answer is 55. Adding one person adds 10 more handshakes, because he needs to shake all 10 of the other students’ hands.

3.) For 20 students, it’s 190. I used the pattern (adding 19 + 18+....+1).

#31 My Favorite Movie

My favorite movie would be Walking With Dinosaurs. I like the movie because some parts were funny and it was also cute too. There was these 2 dinosaurs-a boy and a girl. At first when they were little and exploring, they met and became friends and wanted to go to each other’s home area, talk, and spend time.

Then, it was like they became really good friends and started liking each other, or falling in love. I really like everything about the story was for the whole movie. They went everywhere together through out the whole movie. They really showed that they really cared about each other so much and they were so valuable to each other and all of this really sweet stuff. They even tried to always make sure they were ok and safe, and they tried to always do their best and be there for each other. It was really cute and sweet. I like how one of the dinosaurs had a friend that was some sort of bird that followed him everywhere. I also thought it was interesting how they have a variety of different dinosaurs in the movie, and it has parts where it says the names of the types of dinosaurs. When it showed the names of them, it showed a picture of them. I thought that was kind of interesting and somewhat historic. Some dinosaurs were very vicious though and they tried chasing the other ones, like the 2 that fell in love. I like how it showed how the mothers would feed their little dinosaurs.

At the end of the movie, they even had a baby dinosaur together. Right before the girl one laid her baby dinosaur eggs, she told him that she was pregnant and they were having babies, and he was surprised and didn’t want to believe her. I think it was a cute movie and good for all ages. It's a movie that I think can be for anyone. It's also an animated movie, even though it didn't seem that way to me. Even though I'm not a movie person really, I really liked this movie and I kind of want to see it again. I would also suggest it to other people too probably.

#29 My Career

I want to be a singer when I grow up.  I’ve been practicing every day.  I’ve used it at a coping skill. I had some singing lessons about 3 years ago.  Those first couple singing lessons taught me how to actually sing. I’ve done karaoke at a church event where I sang in front of a whole bunch of people and I didn’t even know them.  I’ve sang for other people I know, and there were a couple times where I sang for someone right after I just met them. After singing I started talking to them.  In addition to my singing, I’ve started doing songwriting as well.  I started that only a few months ago. I also came up with a go to song and that would be “Don’t Speak.”

I’ve done a lot of research on trying to find out how to become a singer, and it was just earlier this week where I finally had luck with it.  I’ve gotten feedback from several people about my singing and voice, and I have been told several times that I have a really good voice and that I’m naturally talented.  I’ve asked a couple of my friends about them being able to help in any way, and they both enjoy singing too.  One of them said she wants to be a singer and sing Phantom of The Opera on stage with a whole bunch of people in an audience.  I’m not sure if she’s as serious and determined as me.  It doesn’t really seem like it.  That friend of mine has an aunt who is an actress, and I’ve asked her and her mom about talking to her.

At 30 years old, I see myself as a famous singer where I’ve already started having concerts, making and releasing albums. I see myself possibly doing or have already done duets with another singer or a rapper. If I could choose like a singer to do any duets with, I would definitely really want to with Gwen Stefani and maybe Pink. As far as rappers, I don’t think I’d care who it would be.

#23 My Top Five Interests/Faves

1. Gwen Stefani

2. Listening to music

3. Singing

4. Socializing

5. Writing (especially journaling and songwriting)

#28 Bucket List

1. Become a singer
I want to become a singer because it’s a huge dream I have.  I’m talented that way and my passion for it is so big that I can’t explain it. It’s been this way for a long time, and I’ve gotten more confident and serious. And I love singing, journaling, songwriting, and music so much.  With all my knowledge of everything to it and the career only creates good feelings and good descriptions for me and only makes me want to go after it more.

2. Get married
Getting married has always been one of my big wishes since I was very little. Even though people have told me it’s really hard, that still doesn’t do anything to me. I believe it’s about finding the right person and that takes time. It’s great for parenting as well.

3. Have kids/be a mom
This is one of 3 biggest dreams and wishes that I’ve always wanted since I was really little. Prior to starting a family is love and marriage I believe. It is a big deal, a lot of work and responsibility and is tough, especially when the kids are babies and little kids. All the knowledge I’ve gained has not affected me.

4. Meet Gwen Stefani and her family
Along with my huge dream of becoming a singer, along with all my love for singing, music, and Gwen Stefani, I have always really wanted and wished to talk to her and meet her and her family. Gwen Stefani seems to be really cool and she’s a huge admiration I have. I’m such a huge fan of her. I’ve always wanted to build a relationship with her and her family as well.

5. Go to college and graduate from a community college
I want to go to a community college and graduate from one because of 2 passions and 2 careers I want. My passions, goals, and career wishes all go together which is good and makes perfect sense. My first passion is singing and I really want to turn it into a singing career, so I’ll take music/vocal classes to help. Also for my 2nd passion, which is the medical field and diagnostic medical sonography. The other career I have in mind and am determined to do is being an ultrasound technician. With both of these and the education, it can all be done at a community college.

#26 Stranded

1.  eGear Survival Essentials Magnesium Fire Starter

I picked this because it’s a 50 count pack that’ll last me many years. I’d use this for survival because it’s a necessity for survival. I’d need it in order to survive and have as much of it as possible while stranded. I’d use the fire to cook food and keep warm. I would need to be able to cook food and stay and keep warm. Those are both extremely important part of life.

2.160 Qt. Heavy Duty Alum. Stock Pot w/ Cover

I picked this thing because I’ll need it to make the sea water into fresh, drinking water by boiling it. I wouldn’t be able to drink sea water and that wouldn’t be good, safe, or healthy. So I’d need to have a boiler to be able to drink water pretty much and also for cooking food.

3.  Eureka Condo - 3 Room 20’x10’6” Tent
For sleeping and shelter, I’d need to arrange something like maybe a tent. I’d need to be able to sleep and not be affected by any sort of wild animals.

#20 Perseverance

If I had to choose between getting $50 now or $100 in a year, I think I would say and choose getting $100 in a year. I would choose to wait and go for $100 in a year because I think it would be better for me and more useful if I wait and get more. Especially because of everything I’ll be using money for in a year compared to now. And $100 is more money to help me pursue a singing career than $50.

Yes, I have 3 long term goals for my life. One is becoming a singer, another is getting married, and the other is having a family.

To become a singer, right now I’m finishing up high school. This June, I will graduate, get my diploma, turn 18 and emancipate. And I will always practice my singing, write songs, and do whatever I can every day. I also have a friend that can help me. I will emancipate shortly after graduating and turning 18, and once that happens I will get a lot more independence and freedom because I’ll be in a placement where it’s like I’m living on my own. With that, I will be working a part time job, and as of the fall of this year I will start going to college. I probably want to go to OCC and take music/vocal classes and diagnostic medical sonography courses as well. It is a long story and a lot to say,.

#21 My Conversation With Gwen

I chose to write about Gwen because she is favorite singer of all time. There’s no singer that I like as much as her or more. She’s been my favorite pretty much my whole life. She seems like someone that I would definitely want to meet and have in my life. Part of my dreams has always been meeting her, talking to her, and building a relationship with her. I even use my imagination for things I want in real life, and things I want to become my reality. Meeting her and talking to her is just part of it. Also, I literally had a dream about meeting her and talking to her, and it made me wake up asking myself if that really happened or if it will come true.

With the opportunity to sit down and talk to her, I’d ask her questions about her life and family. I’d ask her questions about her whole story with her singing and songwriting, and what would she be and what her life would be like if she didn’t have her brother asking her to be the singer for their band and she didn’t become famous. I’d also ask her about her big break. There keeps being more and more things that come to mind that I would bring up in our conversation, but those are some.

#18 Being Charitable

I chose Autism Speaks charity, and Autism Speaks is a charity that helps with autism. They mention that there are several types of autistic disorders that are all considered as ASD. ASD stands for Autistic Spectrum Disorder. They help find ways to make any improvements they can with our society and autism. They also even have a page that talks about autism on their site, and how they’ve tried to find the causes of autism. They mention research that has been done with autism, especially the most recent.

This charity is important to me, or meaningful to me because it goes with my interests, and I have autism. I’ve always been interested in anything to do with autism. But, I don’t know if that’s because I’m autistic, or I don’t know the reason for it. If i see anything that mentions autism, I find it very interesting and fascinating. It makes me want to get caught up on it, zone out, and spending a lot of time and thinking on it. Autism in general is very interesting and fascinating to me, so knowing about this charity Autism Speaks and how they try to help with autistic people, it is very meaningful to me. It means a lot and it makes me want to pick that charity over charities that can match my other interests.

Autism stuff is a lot to me like how singing and music are. I find it really meaningful that there are people to try to help with society and everything with people who have the same diagnosis as me, and similar ones that fall into the same category. I say it that way because my type of autism that I have is Asperger syndrome. But, it even said that Asperger syndrome also is considered as an Autistic Spectrum Disorder now. It’s still a form of autism, even though I’m high functioning compared to other types of autism.

GCF Learn Free typing

I think it’s a good typing website because it said that it helps you make a huge difference and big improvements with your typing. It can help you get to a normal, good typer like 60 wpm and it can help you reach your goal of helping you get to type as fast as you want. Some people that used that website were able to get to 60 wpm and they became excellent and got better and better and beat that score. Some people made comments on their website, and said they really loved it, they were thankful, and one person said she had started it and she already started making improvements with her typing and she said it’s encouraging to her and she wants to keep doing it.

Typing some more

With typing, in the last bit of 7th grade, and most of 8th grade, once a day I had a computer lab class where we’d mostly do typing stuff on the computer. It was on the internet. Then, I somewhat tried doing it online in 9th grade, but I wasn’t consistent with it and we got to a point where we stopped doing that and it stopped being part of our classroom routines and work. Then, I’ve done it with this blogging class, and I’ve had this Intro to Computers class twice now. I also tried working on my typing when I was doing other things on the computer in Miss Plunkett’s room at one point, like when I’d have free time on the computer, or whatever it was. That was sometime last year, when I was a junior. I believe that’s it as far as my typing education.
