#29 My Career

I want to be a singer when I grow up.  I’ve been practicing every day.  I’ve used it at a coping skill. I had some singing lessons about 3 years ago.  Those first couple singing lessons taught me how to actually sing. I’ve done karaoke at a church event where I sang in front of a whole bunch of people and I didn’t even know them.  I’ve sang for other people I know, and there were a couple times where I sang for someone right after I just met them. After singing I started talking to them.  In addition to my singing, I’ve started doing songwriting as well.  I started that only a few months ago. I also came up with a go to song and that would be “Don’t Speak.”

I’ve done a lot of research on trying to find out how to become a singer, and it was just earlier this week where I finally had luck with it.  I’ve gotten feedback from several people about my singing and voice, and I have been told several times that I have a really good voice and that I’m naturally talented.  I’ve asked a couple of my friends about them being able to help in any way, and they both enjoy singing too.  One of them said she wants to be a singer and sing Phantom of The Opera on stage with a whole bunch of people in an audience.  I’m not sure if she’s as serious and determined as me.  It doesn’t really seem like it.  That friend of mine has an aunt who is an actress, and I’ve asked her and her mom about talking to her.

At 30 years old, I see myself as a famous singer where I’ve already started having concerts, making and releasing albums. I see myself possibly doing or have already done duets with another singer or a rapper. If I could choose like a singer to do any duets with, I would definitely really want to with Gwen Stefani and maybe Pink. As far as rappers, I don’t think I’d care who it would be.

#23 My Top Five Interests/Faves

1. Gwen Stefani

2. Listening to music

3. Singing

4. Socializing

5. Writing (especially journaling and songwriting)

#28 Bucket List

1. Become a singer
I want to become a singer because it’s a huge dream I have.  I’m talented that way and my passion for it is so big that I can’t explain it. It’s been this way for a long time, and I’ve gotten more confident and serious. And I love singing, journaling, songwriting, and music so much.  With all my knowledge of everything to it and the career only creates good feelings and good descriptions for me and only makes me want to go after it more.

2. Get married
Getting married has always been one of my big wishes since I was very little. Even though people have told me it’s really hard, that still doesn’t do anything to me. I believe it’s about finding the right person and that takes time. It’s great for parenting as well.

3. Have kids/be a mom
This is one of 3 biggest dreams and wishes that I’ve always wanted since I was really little. Prior to starting a family is love and marriage I believe. It is a big deal, a lot of work and responsibility and is tough, especially when the kids are babies and little kids. All the knowledge I’ve gained has not affected me.

4. Meet Gwen Stefani and her family
Along with my huge dream of becoming a singer, along with all my love for singing, music, and Gwen Stefani, I have always really wanted and wished to talk to her and meet her and her family. Gwen Stefani seems to be really cool and she’s a huge admiration I have. I’m such a huge fan of her. I’ve always wanted to build a relationship with her and her family as well.

5. Go to college and graduate from a community college
I want to go to a community college and graduate from one because of 2 passions and 2 careers I want. My passions, goals, and career wishes all go together which is good and makes perfect sense. My first passion is singing and I really want to turn it into a singing career, so I’ll take music/vocal classes to help. Also for my 2nd passion, which is the medical field and diagnostic medical sonography. The other career I have in mind and am determined to do is being an ultrasound technician. With both of these and the education, it can all be done at a community college.

#26 Stranded

1.  eGear Survival Essentials Magnesium Fire Starter

I picked this because it’s a 50 count pack that’ll last me many years. I’d use this for survival because it’s a necessity for survival. I’d need it in order to survive and have as much of it as possible while stranded. I’d use the fire to cook food and keep warm. I would need to be able to cook food and stay and keep warm. Those are both extremely important part of life.

2.160 Qt. Heavy Duty Alum. Stock Pot w/ Cover

I picked this thing because I’ll need it to make the sea water into fresh, drinking water by boiling it. I wouldn’t be able to drink sea water and that wouldn’t be good, safe, or healthy. So I’d need to have a boiler to be able to drink water pretty much and also for cooking food.

3.  Eureka Condo - 3 Room 20’x10’6” Tent
For sleeping and shelter, I’d need to arrange something like maybe a tent. I’d need to be able to sleep and not be affected by any sort of wild animals.

I got the final answer. It turns out that Abe is the thief. Abe is the one that took it without paying for it at school during lunch.

#20 Perseverance

If I had to choose between getting $50 now or $100 in a year, I think I would say and choose getting $100 in a year. I would choose to wait and go for $100 in a year because I think it would be better for me and more useful if I wait and get more. Especially because of everything I’ll be using money for in a year compared to now. And $100 is more money to help me pursue a singing career than $50.

Yes, I have 3 long term goals for my life. One is becoming a singer, another is getting married, and the other is having a family.

To become a singer, right now I’m finishing up high school. This June, I will graduate, get my diploma, turn 18 and emancipate. And I will always practice my singing, write songs, and do whatever I can every day. I also have a friend that can help me. I will emancipate shortly after graduating and turning 18, and once that happens I will get a lot more independence and freedom because I’ll be in a placement where it’s like I’m living on my own. With that, I will be working a part time job, and as of the fall of this year I will start going to college. I probably want to go to OCC and take music/vocal classes and diagnostic medical sonography courses as well. It is a long story and a lot to say,.

#21 My Conversation With Gwen

I chose to write about Gwen because she is favorite singer of all time. There’s no singer that I like as much as her or more. She’s been my favorite pretty much my whole life. She seems like someone that I would definitely want to meet and have in my life. Part of my dreams has always been meeting her, talking to her, and building a relationship with her. I even use my imagination for things I want in real life, and things I want to become my reality. Meeting her and talking to her is just part of it. Also, I literally had a dream about meeting her and talking to her, and it made me wake up asking myself if that really happened or if it will come true.

With the opportunity to sit down and talk to her, I’d ask her questions about her life and family. I’d ask her questions about her whole story with her singing and songwriting, and what would she be and what her life would be like if she didn’t have her brother asking her to be the singer for their band and she didn’t become famous. I’d also ask her about her big break. There keeps being more and more things that come to mind that I would bring up in our conversation, but those are some.
